Brighton Palace Pier

Brighton Palace Pier

Client

Brighton Marine Palace & Pier Company

Description

The contract involved working underneath the listed structure to replace the sea worn pre-cast concrete planking that makes up the pier deck.  As the Pier is a busy tourist attraction, works had to be finished before the traditionally busy period of Easter, whilst maintaining all services to the adjacent fish and chip kiosk.

The specialist formwork / reinforcement was completed by our in-house carpenters / steelfixers and the concrete was pumped in to replace the edge beam.  The existing steelwork paint was cleaned and repainted to slow down erosion from the sea.
